Work entirely underground, so you rarely see the animal. The tell is fresh fan or crescent shaped mounds with a plugged hole off to one side. They feed on roots and pull whole plants down from below.
Ground squirrels
Active above ground and easy to spot. They dig open, round burrow holes near slopes, fences, and foundations, they climb, and they chew on bark, irrigation, and garden plants.
It is never just a few mounds.

How do I know if it is a gopher or a ground squirrel?
Gophers stay underground and leave fan or crescent shaped mounds with a plugged hole, and you almost never see the animal. Ground squirrels are active above ground and leave open, round burrow holes near slopes, fences, and foundations. We confirm which one you have during the inspection and trap accordingly.
Do you use poison or gas?
No. We do not use poison bait or gas. Both are risky around pets, children, and the wildlife that hunts your yard, and they do not keep new gophers from moving into the same tunnels. We use targeted trapping in the active runs, which is safer and more effective.
How long until the gophers are gone?
It depends on how many are active and how large the yard is. Trapping works quickly once we are in the right tunnels, and we schedule follow-up visits to check, reset, and remove until the mounds and digging stop.
